I started at WPSD at age 2 and half until the day I became 18 years old (yes, I graduated on my
birthday!). I went to Gallaudet University and received my bachelor's degree then I moved to
Wisconsin. In 2007, I moved back to Pittsburgh and worked as a residential supervisor for the
middle school girls in the girl's dorm. In 2009, I was hired to work as a teacher. This is my third year
teaching. I'm currently working on my master's degree in Deaf Education at McDaniel College.
My husband, Todd, and I just celebrated our first anniversary! No kids yet but we have a Chocolate
Lab named Hershey who is 3 years old but is still a big baby! :) In my spare time, I enjoy cooking,
traveling, rooting for Steelers, playing and spending time with Hershey and Todd, and
pretty much everything else that keeps me busy!
I am looking forward to working with your child and help him/her understand his/her identity, values
and culture better. I aim to create a warm environment where your child can become comfortable
and grow as a person.
If you have any questions about your child or anything related to ASL/Deaf Studies, please do not
hesitate to contact me at mconnor@wpsd.org.
I'm looking forward to a fun and exciting school year!

*Starting on January 30th, I'll be gone from WPSD for 10 weeks to complete my internship. Val
Wojton will teach all Deaf Studies classes. Please contact Val at vwojton@wpsd.org if you have any
questions. I will return back on Monday after Spring Break (April 16th) and will return to teach all
Deaf Studies classes until the end of the school year!*
