 Academic BowlFour students two coaches but no mascot drove all the way to Jacksonville Illinios. Apparently Paws was not feeling well so we visited a local store and adopted his cousin Winkie (note his mischievous facial expression) as seen above. We are hoping he will bring us lots of good luck as we face some challenging teams over the next two days. Bad news. . . Illinois School for the Deaf does not have WiFi and phone service is spotty at best so it is unlikely we will be able to update this page Friday and Saturday. Gallaudet officials warned us that even statistics on their own webpage may be delayed but that they will make a good effort to post results as they come in on Facebook and Twitter (you'll just have to read the RSS feed rather than be able to see a nice table of stats). WPSD students won our practice match against Ohio School for the Deaf and made us very proud by being attentive and engaged as audience members. . . They played alongside the competing teams and impressed us with their breadth of knowledge. Gallaudet academic bowl web site  |
