What if my child is ill and will not be attending school today?

You should call or notify the school between 8:30- 9:00 am. Any missed work
from that day will either be sent home with a sibling or can be picked up in
the office after 3:00 pm on that day.

How can I help my child with homework and test preparation?

You should read and reread the directions for the nightly homework
assignment with your child. Allow the student to complete the page as best
as he/she can. PARENTS SHOULD NOT MAKE CHANGES ON THE HOMEWORK PAGE! You may
point out a recurring error pattern; however, do not over-correct.

Spelling and Vocabulary words should be practiced nightly. The best way to
learn is repetition, so don't be afraid to READ, READ, READ! Regular review
of Math concepts will keep the student fresh. This helps to reduce anxiety
at test time.

Can my child celebrate his/her birthday in school?

I certainly welcome the celebration of birthdays in our classroom. Summer
birthdays will be notified in the spring so that we can choose a day to
celebrate your day.
Food treats are not acceptable this year. I encourage you to read the Student
Handbook's birthday treat policy.
