Mrs. Fraley has been teaching Special Education since 1980. She graduated
from Millersville University in 1980 and received her Masters in Education
from East Stroudsburg University in 1984. After teaching middle school from
1980-1983, she moved to Bethlehem and was hired by Wilson Area School
District.She began teaching Special Education at Wilson High School in
January 1984, and has been teaching for 32 years.

English 9 Non-fiction novel "Touching Spirit Bear

Students will complete a unit of instruction based on the novel,"Touching
Spirit Bear" by Ben Mikaelsen. This novel captures the adventures of a
fifteen year old boy named Cole Matthews, who is banished to a remote island
in Alaska as punishment for a violent crime. While on this island, Cole will
learn to respect others as well as himself.
Main objectives
* to strengthen word and passage comprehension skills
* to use context clues to figure out word meaning
* to write short answer responses to questions based on the novel
* to write a constructed response based on the novel

English 12 novel "The Pearl" by John Steinbeck
"*****************************************************************************
Students will complete a unit of instruction based on "The Pearl"
designed to strengthen word and passage comprehension skills. The novel takes
place in a small fishing village in Mexico where many of the people live in
poverty. The main character, Kino, discovers the pearl of the world and puts
his family in danger by journeying to the capital city in order to sell it.
The theme of this novel is how much a man will go through in order to rise
out of poverty,
