I am from a small town in Northeast PA. Take the length of Northampton St,
Fairview Ave. and Lehigh St, in the "boro", and you have my hometown of New
Milford, which is located about 40 miles north of Scranton. Make sure you
say that with a LONG "A" in the middle. I graduated from Blue Ridge High
School, where my mom was the librarian. I have 2 sisters and 1 brother.
After my junior year, I went to the Mansfield State College Summer Music
Camp. It was during that time that I decided on a career in music. I did my
auditions at the end of that camp experience, was accepted and didn't need
to worry about applying to colleges my senior year.
I grduated from what is now referred to as Mansfield University. I have a BS
in Music Education, with a major in voice and a minor in piano. I have been
teaching in the Wilson Area School District since 1987. I have been married
to my husband, Tom, who teaches at Avona, for 33 years and we have 2 sons
who are both graduates of Wilson Area High School.
It is the goal of the WAHS Choral Music Department to provide musicians a
life-long love of singing, playing and performing. It is our goal to share
our talents with the community on our stage and at their venues. We will
accept as many community-minded performances as our school calendar allows.
We not only want to entertain, but educate and share our knowledge and what
we have gleaned from this musical experience.
