Lesson 1 (August 31- September 8)
Students will engage in discussion regarding the two types of Career Pathways, according to the Career Pathways Model. They will also learn the differences between the two pathways, as well as the 4 Career Clusters.

Lesson 2 (September 9-October 7)
Introduce students to Career Cruising and the Portfolio Tool. Students will log in to their portfolio tool on Career Cruising and begin to complete the Career Matchmaker

EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITY
LESSON #1 Quiz Extra Credit
Students will answer the questions posted under the school files tab on their portfolio homepage on career cruising to earn extra credit on their lesson #1 quiz. The file is labeled EXTRA CREDIT. These questions should be answered using the MY JOURNAL tool on their portfolio homepage. Students should attach the lesson #1 quiz file to this journal entry as well.
 
 
Lesson 3 (October 8-November 4)
Help students make the connection between daily activities and work skillsStudents will use the "A Day in the Life" chart to create a sample day in their life, being sure to include all curricular, extracurricular, social and at-home activities. They will then use the "Activities & Work Skills' chart to link their activities to work related skills.

Lesson 4
When thinking about careers/life after high school some things that should really be taken into consideration are the following: Your Values, Work Importance, Personality & AttitudeStudents will complete Activity 2-D Personal Motivation and Activity 2-A Imagine If. . . in class. They will also need to complete Activities 2-2 and 2-4 out of class to be prepared for the next class.

Lesson 5
The lines between right and wrong have blurred in today's society. This leaves teens uncertain about what is appropriate behavior. The purpose of these lessons is to educate students on what behavior/characteristics employers are looking for. Students will be asked to fill in five pieces of information about the story "Pizza Predicament." This activity will also evaluate memoery retention. Students will also be asked to evaluate the amount of money a pizza store would lose if employees failed to charge friends for pizza.

Lesson 6
Students will focus as a group on how they make decisons to accomplish a goal. Students will work in groups to create a 3-d house of cards from the ground up. They will have only 15 minutes to complete the task. They will then discuss the activity and complete the "Which Style Will Work" Comic Strip Activity.

Lesson 7
Students will work in Career Cruising to learn about options for the future as well as work on completing their 4 year high school plan. Students will complete Career Cruising Portfolio Activities 3, 4 & 5.
