About The Teacher

After I graduated from William Allen High School, I studied at Lehigh
University and received a BS in Biology. I worked as a Respiratory Therapist
in the ICU and the ER in New York for 2 years. I then took electrical
engineering courses and worked as a Biomedical Engineer in the hospital
setting for 8 years. Some of my job duties were teaching Doctors and Nurses
how to use medical equipment, maintaining and repairing medical equipment, and
evaluating new medical equipment. I went back to school after raising my
children and received my certificate to teach science from Cedar Crest
College. I am certified to teach chemistry, biology, physics, and general
science. I am currently working on my masters in teaching at Cedar Crest
College. This year is the beginning of my 6th year at Wilson Area High
School. I am a member of the Student Assistance Program(SAP Team) and the
scorekeeper for the track team.

My philosophy for teaching science is:
In order for students to truly understand the science terminology
                    they must EXPERIENCE THE WORDS.

Mission For The Class

I love all the fields of science. I feel it is extremely important not only
to teach students science, but also to instill in them the problem solving
techniques which they can use in the lab as well as everyday life.
