Letter to Darwin- Choose a character, either a contemporary of Darwin, yourself, a modern practicing scientist--this is your choice. Write a letter to Darwin, what would you say to him as this character? How has his work influenced you? What questions do you have for him?

-Sign in as a guest, use your full name this will print on your completion certificate
-Run through the simulation, keep your data for the temperature, this will be graphed.
-As you answer the final questions pay careful attention to the
wording of question 4, when stating EITHER they are meaning either of
these two variable could produce the change (NOT either/or)
-Print out your cricket certificate to hand in
-Make a line graph of the temperature data using a graphing
program. Be sure to check your graphing guidelines to make sure you
have all required components.

b. Click on Covered Title click on this link and select our
text: Biology Concepts and Connections, 5th ed., Campbell. I
know we have the 4th ed. but they don't support that anymore, many
of the resources will be the same, then click on your title from the
list
c. Choose Student Registration
d. Click I Accept at the bottom of the License Agreement page
e. Access Information -

2. Once you have registered for the website go to the Honors Bio Links Page
(found on the sidebar of this page!), follow the directions for Meet Your
Text. If you are not successful with the website use your CD
to do this. E-mail me if you are unsuccessful with both of these access methods.
3. Cover your text book, bring it in by next Tuesday for a book check 2pts
4. Think of 5 adjectives for a scientist, print these out in a 72 size font of
your choice and color. Try to think of some unusual words because they will
be used in a class activity tomorrow. 3pts
Tues-
1. Use your flashcards to start learning the bio- prefixes, suffixes, quiz
Thurs 9/10
2. Use the text CD or Web link; go to the chapter that matched your class
personal id#,find examples of 5 words that use our prefixes and write a
"dissected definition" for these terms (DO NOT USE DICTIONARY OR
GLOSSARY!)--this will be good practice for the quiz next Tues.
Rubric: 1pt- 5words from your chapter (or if need be you may go into the following chapter)
1pt- underline or highlight the prefix/suffix/root(s) within the words
1pt- best guess definition of the word using the meaning of the prefix/suffix/root(s)
3. Free Choice HW- Watch NOVA, Is There LIfe on Mars,at 8PM
on WHYY, take notes and turn in for a "Free Choice HW pass"
4. Start planning your "Scientist Project"
Thurs-Equipment Lab due on Friday, be sure to pay careful attention to the summary questions! Answer them fully!
Rubric: 4pts each-completion of matching, use and map (12 pts)
3pts- show corrections and changes in red from going over lab in class (3pts)
5-Conclusion:
Q1- Compares and Contrasts the pairs of tools
