text level and unit. You can also use Web Codes, printed right in your
Prentice Hall Mathematics textbook after the table of contents, to go directly
to any of the practice quizzes or real-world applications.

Problem of the Week
This is a link to the previous edition of our text. A great resource that
includes on-line lesson quizzes and chapter tests that differ from the ones
on the new site. The assessments are scored instantly and the correct
answers are given so you can try to find your errors.
Pre-Algebra Resource Page
Another site with on-line practice quizzed and tests that give immediate
feedback. This can be used for PSSA practice or additional practice for our
quizzes and tests. Be careful to look at the chapter titles and not the
numbers as they do not align pefectly with our book.
Glencoe Pre-Algebra
Learn almost anything for free with a library of over 2,400 videos covering
everything from arithmetic to calculus. Videos include lessons and worked
examples.
Khan Academy
These mini-algebra lessons cover concepts and skills normally taught in a
first year algebra program. The lessons parallel 33 video tapes offered in the
algebra series on this site. Although the videos are not free, the text
lessons are and can be viewed and/or printed. These may be useful for
students who have missed a class or need some fine tuning on a particular
concept or skill.

Ask Dr. Math is a question and answer service for math students and their
teachers. A searchable archive is available by level and topic, as well as
summaries of frequently asked questions.

Interactice Quizzes
Euclid's Elements form one of the most beautiful and influential works of
science in the history of humankind. Its beauty lies in its logical
development of geometry and other branches of mathematics. It has influenced
all branches of science but none so much as mathematics and the exact
sciences. The Elements have been studied 24 centuries in many languages
starting, of course, in the original Greek, then in Arabic, Latin, and many
modern languages.
This version of Euclid's Elements demonstrates how Java applets can be used
to illustrate geometry and bring the Elements alive.
The text of all 13 Books is complete, and all of the figures are illustrated
using the Geometry Applet, even those in the last three books on solid
geometry that are three-dimensional.

Math Puzzles
Columbus State University's College of Education is now the home of the
Problem of the Week math contest, which was started in 1996 by David Rock and
Doug Brumbaugh. The math educators also supply problems and answers that are
part of the current White House Math Challenge, a presidential effort to boost
interest in math and foster problem-solving skills.

Art of Problem Solving online classes allow top students from around the world

Junior High Math Interactives
The Melbourne University Mathematics and Statistics Society, also known as
MUMS, was formed to represent maths and stats students at Melbourne
University. MUMS organise a variety of activities, including seminars, trivia
competitions, barbecues and an annual Maths Olympics. They also put out the
magazine Paradox at regular intervals.
MUMS welcomes all students with an interest in maths or stats. This is aimed
at the advanced student and you can sign up for a e-newsletter on their
website to keep you up to date on their many activities.
