Course Descriptions

Multimedia Applications

This course will enable the Wyoming Area student the opportunity to meet the 
technological advances in their educational and career choices.  Students 
will be introduced to the different types of hardware and software needed to 
produce multimedia presentations.  Office Premium, which includes Word, 
PowerPoint, and Excel software, and which is the industry standard, will be 
introduced.  Extending Internet searching skills will be further explored 
and practiced.  Desktop publishing utilizing the industry standard software 
package Publisher will be implemented to design flyers, signs and 
newsletters.  Visual Basic programming will be applied to enable the 
students an opportunity to experience computer-programming concepts, which 
include writing debugging, and executing their own programs.

Accounting I

This course provides the student with a thorough introduction to the basic 
principles of Accounting.  The course will provide a foundation for the 
student whose career interest is to pursue a college degree in Accounting 
and/or a related business field.  Accounting I will provide a foundation of 
accounting concepts and principles helpful to perspective business majors.  
For students interested in gaining a greater knowledge of accounting 
concepts and principles, continued study in Accounting II is suggested.

Business Law

Business Law gives an overview of the constitution of the United States, 
discusses laws concerning minors, families, consumers, and explains both 
criminal and civil court procedures.  Study continues with contract law, 
personal and real property, landlord tenant relationships and insurance.  
Cases and examples pertinent to each subject will be accessed via newspaper, 
magazines and the Internet.  Computer technology will play an important part 
throughout the course as students research various cases via the Internet 
both in school and at home.
