*Please refer to the homework assignment sheet that is sent home at the
beginning of each week.
!!!Students should store all flash cards in a 'word box' (shoe box) decorated
by your child. Phonics Library Books should be stored in a 'book box'
decorated by your child!!!
Monday - reading homework:
1. Practice new words sent home for the week and
cut out the flash cards for at home practice.
Store word cards in a word box.
Students who know all of the words on Tuesday will receive an extra
sticker. Review the words your child doesn't know each day.
2. Students should read aloud phonics library book and bring in raffle
ticket for weekly prize drawing.
3.(Starting in October-November) Begin practicing spelling words sent home.
Write the words each day on the Stuck on Spelling H.W. paper which is due
Friday of the same week.
Tuesday - Math homework - Practice worksheets AND read the Phonics library
book.
Wednesday - Reading homework.
1. Read aloud phonics library book.
2. Complete worksheets sent home marked H.W.
3. (Beginning in October/November)Students should
neatly write each spelling word 3 times each. On Spelling Sentences
worksheet students should write a sentence for each spelling word.
(minium of 4 sentences)
Thursday - Math homework - Practice worksheets.
Friday - NO HOMEWORK.
AT THE END OF EACH MONTH - Monthly Reading Logs are due. New reading logs
will be handed out.
**Practice Math Facts up to 18 throughout the school year. Make math flash
cards. Children will be tested on basic addition and subtraction facts on
Friday throughout the school year**
NOTE: If there is no school on Monday reading homework will be given on
Tuesday.
EXTRA CREDIT: Throughout the year children are encouraged to bring in a book
to read to the class that they have practiced reading at home. Reading
rewards will be given to our "Book Worm" readers!
