Michael L Pesta was a former CEO of the UFCW Federal Credit Union. Michael lived and worked his entire life in the Wyoming Area School District. He graduated in 1948 from Exeter High School and was married to his wife Nancy, for over 55 years until passing in June 2010. His only daughter, Kim, and her husband, Mark Deangelo, are both graduates of Wyoming Area High School. Kim continues to follow in her father's footsteps as the CFO of the UFCW FCU. Their 2 children are also WA students.

As the CEO of the UFCW Federal Credit Union, where he was employed for over 30 years, Michael worked hard to promote the credit union movement and was so very proud to have helped so many people through life's financial ups and downs. Michael's philosophy was to believe in people by giving everyone a fair chance and helping those in need. His motto was "I BELIEVE IN YOU". Through the generosity of the UFCW Federal Credit Union, this scholarship is funded in his memory.

The purpose of the Michael L Pesta Memorial UFCW FCU scholarship is to provide financial assistance to any graduating Wyoming Area Senior who wishes to continue his or her education in the business field at a technical, community college or 2 year or 4 year college/university. The scholarship in the amount of $500.00 may be applied to tuition, books, or other expenses directly incurred for continuing education. The scholarship will be payable in one lump sum to the successful applicant.
