The purpose of this scholarship is to remember Anthony Sr. and Eleanor Angeli, life long residents of West Pittston. Eleanor was a cherished employee of the Wyoming Area School District for over twenty five years. Anthony Sr. was also involved in the Wyoming Area family. In 1998 Eleanor lost her battle to pancreatic cancer. This is when the family began the scholarship. In 2008 Anthony lost his battle with Alzheimer's and is remembered as well.
The annual scholarship, in the amount of $1250.00 will be awarded to a West Pittston resident completing his or her senior year at Wyoming Area. The applicant must continue their post secondary education, following the year graduated, at a four year accredited college. In the event that the money is not used for educational purposes, and or the applicant does not attend college within the year of graduation, the award must be returned to the Scholarship Trust. All applicants will be evaluated on the basis of; community service, scholastic ability, character, financial need, and extracurricular activities.
The selection committee shall consist of the four Angeli children. An essay will be required to complete the application.
