The wonderful world of wetlands is our next adventure! We will be on this
topic through the month of November. Topics will include: wetland soils,
plants, and hydrology. We will have a lab on cattails, hydric soils and soils
in general. Students will be working on their biodiversity tour photo albums
and are currently observing pond water searching for microscopic creatures for
their second entry. Good Stuff!!! We will also be discussing our largest big
game animal, the white-tailed deer. Topics will include the Pennsylvania Game
Commission and current management practices. Wow! What a November!! If that
is not enough December will be just as awesome! We will wrap up watersheds
and wetlands with humans and the environment. This week long project
emphasizes humans and how we use our land. Should be interesting! We will
also be working on our wetland habitat paintings. This will incorporate water
paints and biodiversity!!! COOL STUFF!!
