Mrs. Ondis
Grade 3 Class Update
December 3, 2009

Math: Students are continuing their work with factors and multiplies. They
have been working with money to determine the factors of 100 and 300 using
coins. We will continue with multiplication concepts and begin with basic
division facts before vacation.

Science: We are almost at the end of our science unit, Structures of Life.
The students are writing creative stories about crayfish to share with
Kindergarten buddies in the coming weeks. We have sent home the form if you
would like to take a crayfish home the week before vacation along with care
instruction. We have eleven crayfish that will need a home!

Reading/Writng/Social Studies: The students have almost completed the
biography study. All of the students have read at least one book about the
person that they selected and are now in the final stages of organizing
information and completing all of the projects. They are looking forward to
sharing with you all that they lave learned! We will have a dress rehearsal
on December 17, so please send in their clothing that day. We discussed as a
class that they should find things around the house or borrow from family
members or friends instead of going out to purchase an entire outfit! As for
breakfast treats to bring in, we have made a list of items for volunteers!
Mrs. Pirolli has volunteered to organize the food items for us on that day so
please contact her p_pirolli@verizon.net to volunteer an item.
