•	A S S I G N M E N T S

-    I n – C l a s s  A s s i g n m e n t s
A brief task will be assigned daily and will be collected before end of
period. These assignments should be done neatly in pencil. Students will also
be required to create a grammar portfolio outlined during class. This will
typically be collected as an in class assignment, however is subject to
counting as a homework or 
       -    MAKE-UP I n – C l a s s  A s s i g n m e n t s
       EXCUSED: For every day of an excused absence, you will have ONE day 
     to make up the assignment missed and turned in for credit. It is 
     your responsibility to turn in missed work. Failure to do so will 
     result in a zero.
       UNEXCUSED: A zero will be given for work missed due to an unexcused 
     absence. 

       -    H o m e w o r k  
All homework is to be written in pencil only, neatly composed and 100%
completed. Failure to fulfill any of these requirements will result in a zero
for the assignment.
All assignments will be graded in pen. If pencil is used while grading, you
will be referred for cheating. Assignments will be collected after grading is
complete and content 
understood. Working on any Spanish assignment during another class will result
in a zero for the assignment. Any work from another class done during Spanish
will be confiscated.
       -    MAKE-UP H o m e w o r k
       EXCUSED: For every day of an excused absence, you will have ONE day

•	Q U I Z Z E S

30% of your grade is composed from quizzes. Quizzes will be given on Fridays.
If you are absent on a Thursday and present Friday, you are still responsible
for taking the quiz. All quizzes will be kept in the student's assessment
portfolio in room 102A. No quiz shall under any circumstance leave Mrs.
Zaubi's room. A parent or tutor who would like to see the quiz is welcome to
come to the room to view the quiz with Mrs. Zaubi.
       -    MAKE-UP Q u i z z e s
       EXCUSED: If absent on the Friday of a quiz, it is your responsibility
     to reschedule the quiz. To schedule a make up quiz, a form must be 
     filled out, signed and returned to and initialed by Mrs. Zaubi the 
     day of your return. Make up quizzes can be rescheduled for 7:30 AM 
     or after school.
       If you do not come for your quiz on the day rescheduled, you will 
     receive a zero for that quiz.
       UNEXCUSED: A zero will be given for the quiz missed due to an        
     unexcused absence. 

       -    P r o j e c t s & P r e s e n t a t i o n s
Projects and presentations will be announced prior to due date and 
will count as a QUIZ GRADE. There will be a "check date" within 3 to 
5 days of due date. Extra credit on the assignment will be awarded 
to those who are prepared on the check date. No project or 
presentation will be accepted after due date; thus, it will result 
in a zero.
       -    MAKE-UP P r o j e c t s & P r e s e n t a t i o n s
       EXCUSED: If absent the due date of a project, the project must be
     turned in the day of student's return for any credit.
     Make up presentations will need to be rescheduled by student. To 
     schedule a make up presentation a make up form must be filled out, 
     signed and returned to and initialed by Mrs. Zaubi the day of 
     student's return. Make up presentations can be rescheduled for 
     before or after school.
       UNEXCUSED: A zero will be given for the project or presentation
     missed due to an unexcused absence. 

•	T E S T S

55% of your grade is composed from tests. You can anticipate a Chapter test
the Friday after the second quiz; thus you are responsible for taking the test
regardless if absent the day before. Test material will always be reviewed
prior to assessment. However, testing success in Spanish comes from ample
preparation.  All failing tests will be accompanied by a Test Grade Notice
form.  This form must be signed by the parent and returned within 
three days. 

       -    E X T R A  C R E D I T : "Blue Notes" are found in the back of the
room and are to be turned in before the test for extra credit. "Blue Notes"
are the assessment study guide created by the student from their notes and
class materials. In order to receive extra credit they need to have examples
reflecting knowledge of both vocabulary and grammar.
All tests will be kept in the student's assessment portfolio in room 102A. No
test shall under any circumstance leave Mrs. Zaubi's room. A parent or tutor
who would like to see the test is welcome to come to the room to view the quiz
with Mrs. Zaubi.

•	E X T R A  H E L P
Extra help is available every Thursday after school from 3:00 - 4:00 or by
appointment. Extra help is strongly encouraged to prevent falling behind in a
cumulative subject like Spanish. Cramming for hours the night before
assessment is not nearly as beneficial as extra help. Identify problem areas
and/or come with questions to extra help. So, when is extra help?
