1984 marked my first year at BEHS but certainly not my first year of
teaching.I am a Columbia College alum with a BA in English and Secondary
education and have a MAT degree (+30 hrs.) in the field of English. I have
been fortunate to study abroad twice with a summer at The University of
Birmingham (England) located in Stratford studying Shakespeare and another
summer at the University of Edinburgh studying Victorian literature. Whenever
my husband and I get the opportunity, we travel abroad to expand our
historical and literary horizons. Otherwise, I enjoy kayaking and reading.
During my years at BEHS I have taught just about every track in every grade
level. I love BEHS's diverse student body; it's one of its strongest assets!
To instill in students an appreciation for the written word and a good story
with a hope for their becoming readers. As Oscar Wilde once said," It's what
you read when you don't have to, that determines what you will be when you
can't help it."
