Mrs. Drake's & Mrs. Batson's |

BirthdaysLet’s talk about birthdays ~ a popular topic in kindergarten. We are always excited about seeing a child turn a year older, but what we are really celebrating is their birth. When your child’s big day comes around we would like to add a little something to the celebration. Please tell your child about the day he/she was born. Talk about how excited you were, if you knew they were a boy/girl, what names you considered, who stayed with older siblings, etc… If you can come in on that day, please send a note the day before to tell Mrs. Drake which time you will be there. We welcome you to come in for about 10 minutes to talk about the big day. You can bring hospital pictures, wrist bracelets, a special blanket, stuffed animal or something else that was significant to your child. We will let you and your child share during large group. You might prefer to let your child bring these items to school and share if you cannot be there, but remember to tell him/her all about their birthday. A special snack is always welcome. If your snack week is not during your child’s birthday week, you can still send something special and we will save the snack planned for that day until another day. Miniature cupcakes are always popular or you could send your child’s favorite food. It was a big day and should be recognized. You will be surprised to see you excited your child will be to learn about himself/herself.
