Baggie Books for ______________________

Please enjoy reading the weekly baggie books with your child. They will come home on Tuesdays

and need to be returned on Wednesdays. You may need to read the first page or so of the

predictable books and then see if your child follows the reading pattern. As the books get

progressively harder during the year, you may just have to help with a few words and your

child will recognize the popcorn words. Your child will also need to practice reading the

popcorn words each week and check the column on this page if they read these words to you.

If you need an extra copy you may find it on the website under printable forms and make a copy.

Playdough Recipe

Use a large aluminum pot (I use the bottom of my pressure cooker). Put liquids in the pot first. Then add dry ingredients.

2 cups cold water

2 Tablespoons cooking oil

2 cups PLAIN flour

1 cup salt

2 teaspoons cream of tartar

Mix. Cook until mixture pulls away from the sides of the pan and looks dry. Knead in a sprinkle of plain flour if you think it is too sticky after kneading for a minute. If you want to, you can add small amounts of food coloring, glitter and scented oils.
