Hi! Welcome to 3rd Grade! I am thrilled to be a part of the CFK Family.
I am originally from Clover, SC and moved to Columbia to attend college at
USC. My parents still live in Clover, along with most of my extended family,
so we visit often. My husband and I both graduated from Clover High School
and then moved on to become Gamecocks at USC! I graduated with a Master's
Degree from USC and my husband graduated from USC Law School. I began
teaching at Lonnie B. Nelson Elementary school here in Columbia and completed
1 year as a 5th grade teacher and 5 years as a 4th grade teacher. My husband
is an attorney at Turner, Padget, Graham and Laney. We have two children,
Noah, who is four years old and Molly, who is 4 months old and they are the
joys of
our lives! Our yellow lab, Bentley, is
also a lovable member of our family!
I enjoy attending community events and USC Gamecocks sporting events,
especially during the Fall-football season! I also enjoy working out,
running, reading, and playing with Noah and Molly. My favorite place to
vacation is at
the beach where I get the best of both worlds-playing hard in the sand and
ocean with my family, but also relaxing on the beach with a good book.
Teaching is a love and passion instilled in me at a very young age. From the
time I was in elementary school, I knew it was my calling and have never
looked back. Igniting a love of learning in students is a dream come true-
and something that I can live each day. Watching children make connections to
the real world and applying their newfound knowledge is a joy beyond words.
To be an educator is to make a difference in the lives of others-something
that I live for.
