What is the difference between the Unit Study Guides and the Study Questions?

The Unit Study Guides are usually given at the beginning of a Science or
Social Studies Unit and are OPTIONAL (but strongly urged the complete)
because if they are completed and turned in the day of the test the student
will receive 5 extra bonus points on their final test grade. The study
questions are done for homework or in class and are assigned after a
lesson. These are also a good review for the test but count towards their
homework grade.

Do I have to sign my childs agenda book?

That is entirely up to you! It is not required because I believe fifth
graders need to be taking on the responsiblity of completing their own
homework and not always having someone check up on them. I do like it when
you sign them because it can be a great way to jot me a quick note. I
always do a quick check in the morning to see that they are writing down
their assignments.

What if my child never brings home the Unit Study Guide?

I will do my best to put each Unit Study Guide on my web site under
Documents. This way you will have a copy and you can encourage your child
to complete it.
