When is Mr. Nivens available for extra help?

I am in my room by 7:30 every morning, except for the first Tuesday of each
month when I have to attend a department chairs meeting. I am also
available most afternoons after school.

What should a student do about assignments in case of an absence?

Students are responsible for turning in all work assigned, even if they are
absent on the day work is assigned. If a student misses class, and wants to
know what the assignment for the day was, there are several options:
1) If a student has a working e-mail address, I will make a point to send
the notes and assignments to the student before I leave school each
afternoon.
2) The last week's worth of homework assignments are posted on the wall by
the pencil sharpener. Students should ask me if they have any questions.
3) Homework assignments and power point notes are posted on this website
regularly. Students can follow the links from the home page for their class.
4) Contacting another student in the class is a great way to keep up when
absent or just to have a study partner. I recommend that each student have
the phone number of at least two other students in the class.
5) When all else fails, find me before or after school for extra help.

What is the policy for making up missed tests?

A student has five school days to make up any test missed due to absence.
The test may be made up either before school or after school. No tests will
be made up during class time or at lunch.
