This is my seventh year at Heath Springs. I love it here because the students, faculty, and administration have become not only my friends but a part of my family as well!

I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. I have lived most of my life in South Carolina so I consider myself a Carolina Girl:)

I currently live in Lancaster, SC with my husband, Jarrod Moore, our daughter, Claire, and our dog Eli. Claire is 4 years old. She is the absolute joy of our lives! She is so much fun and makes us laugh all the time. It is so exciting to watch her as she learns new things everyday!

Eli is our very active Jack Russell/Lab mix. He is very loving and playful. He has also brought a lot of joy into our lives. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see a picture of Eli.

I graduated in 2006 with my Masters in Early Childhood Education from Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. I also obtained my National Board Certification in 2010. I continue my education throughout the school year and during the summer by being involved in professional development opportunities, workshops, and seminars. The knowledge and information I learn each time I'm involved in any sort of educational advancement is priceless!

I have had experience teaching kindergarten, first, and second grade. I love first graders! They are so much fun and their insatiable desire for learning is so exciting to me!

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, exercising, shopping, and traveling (especially to the beach)! I love Chick-fil-a milkshakes (especially peach during the summer and chocolate chip peppermint during the Christmas season). I love sleeping in, reading, and sipping on Dr. Pepper, Sweet Tea, and Starbuck's coffee!!

My Philosophy of Education:

I believe that all children have the ability to learn. Students must be enouraged, nurtured, and given the proper tools to succeed. Our classroom will strive to be a place where all children will have opportunities to be successful in his or her educational experiences. The opportunities and experiences that each student will encounter will help to show their individual strengths and build upon their unique differences.

I believe that education and learning should be fun, exciting, and challenging. If young children develop a love for learning at an early age, that love will continue to grow as they do. Through the use of projects, hands-on activities, technology, and cooperative learning, I will do my part to encourage and motivate each child to achieve at their highest level and develop into life-long learners. I know that education is a partnership between home, school, and community. I am available at any time for parent conferences, concerns, or questions. Through working together, we can make 1st grade an enjoyable and challenging experience!
