Dear Parents,
I hope you are excited as I am that Spring is finally here. The warm weather,
birds singing, and flowers blooming are such a welcoming sight, but we could
certainly do without the pollen! We are thrilled that standardized testing is
behind us and looking forward to Spring Break in 2 short weeks!
We have come so far in phonics this year. Your children are doing an excellent
job reading. They will receive reading take-home books this week. Please
continue to read these with your child every night. In phonics this week we
will be learning about silent "e" or what is sometimes called sneaky "e". We
have discussed it before, but we will be practicing many words using this new
rule.
In math we will continue with addition and introduce some subtraction. Also we
will be talking about place value. Please continue to review counting and
identifying money at home.
We are excited about our upcoming events. There are so many! We have Spring
Break April 4-8, our Easter Egg Hunt April 21, and a field trip April 27. You
will be receiving additional information about these fun things very soon.
As always, I hope you all have a great week. Please feel free to contact me
with any questions!
Thank you,
Allison
