The first graders will have homework Monday - Thursday. It should be
completed by your SPECIAL STAR in approximately 15 - 30 minutes with a smile
on his or her face. It is essential for your first grader to read 10 - 15
minutes NIGHTLY. Happy Learning to All!
The daily detailed assignments are in his/her red folder.
The red and green folders are to be returned to school daily. Graded
activities are to stay at home.
Homework
If your child is having difficulty with certain homework concepts, please
inform me by sending me a note.
I would like for ALL FIRST GRADERS TO BECOME INDEPENDENT FIRST GRADE Homework
WORKERS in 2012! Please allow your child to do his or her work without you
sitting with them. Keep trying!
If I do not send home a detailed homework paper, then the first grade
homework will be posted.
READING 15 minutes nightly is very important! The
more the first graders read, the better readers they will become in first
grade.
Spelling test is always on Friday unless a note is sent to you.
The core spelling words will be on a typed sheet or in the first grade
planner. Some students will have Bonus Words for the week.
