Hello Chorus Families!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! I know it is hard to believe, but it is time to start thinking about Chorus again because our Spring Concert is March 6th... in only 2 months!!!! Please make sure that your chorus child is at all the rehearsals on Wed. and Fri. at school, and at the Sunday practices!!!
A few dates and info you need to know …
· Sunday Rehearsal Schedule:
o Sunday, February 12, from 2-5pm. Field trip forms for remaining chorus
events must be signed.
o Sunday, February 26, from 2-5pm. Chorus will get new shirts. Money
will be collected for field trip on Friday March 9th. Please see details below.
o Sunday, March 4, from 2-5pm.
· Monday, March 5-field trip to Ashley River Baptist Church.
o We leave at 8:40.
o Rehearse from 9am-12n.
o Students will eat lunch at the park shelter on Playground Rd.
Students will need to bring a bag lunch from home or give
Mrs. Planton their cafeteria number so one may be ordered for them.
· Tuesday, March 6-Perform Spring Concert for the school at 1:15pm…
wearing new chorus shirt, jeans, and white tennis shoes.
· Tuesday night, March 6…7pm…Spring Concert at Ashley River Baptist Church. Chorus dressed and at church by 6:15.
· Friday, March 9 Field Trip
o Leave at 9:30am
o Sing at Riverside Nursing Home off of Azalea Drive from 10-10:30am
o Sing at National Health Care from 11:00-11:30
o Eat lunch at Jason’s Deli. Sue Miller is getting together a menu and cost
which will need to be paid by the Feb. 26 Sunday Chorus Rehearsal.
· Sunday, March 11…Chorus sings National Anthem at the
Stingrays Game. Chorus kids are free but must be accompanied by a
paid parent or adult. I will let you know cost as soon as I know.
· Friday, March 30…Field trip to Columbia, SC to the Columbia
Marionette Theater to see the puppet show, “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.”
o For the show and the buses, the cost is $17 and this is due on
Friday, March 9th. Mrs. Planton has 10 bus parents.
o This special event is after the concert and any child NOT at the concert will not go.
o We leave Orange Grove at 7:45, get to the Marionette theater by 10:45, show is at 11am.
o We will go to the Columbiana Mall Food Court for lunch. Chorus children will need to bring their money for the food court.
