Classroom expectaions
1. Be prepared for class. In order to maximize the time allotted for
each
class, you are to be in your seat and ready to work when the tardy bell
rings. Do not stand in the hall between classes.
2. Be respectful. Do not talk while I am talking or when another
classmate is
talking.
3. Be attentive. Do not attempt to sleep, pass notes, or play games on
the
calculator while the lesson is being taught.
4. You may use calculators only when you are instructed to use them. Use
without permission is considered cheating and will be handled accordingly.
5. Students are expected to makeup work missed due to absences within
five
school days upon their return. The assignments will be posted each day in the
classroom.
6. All school rules are to be followed. Please refer to your student

Calculator Agreement
Calculator Agreement & Policy
I, , understand that being
provided with a calculator to use in my math class is a privilege and not a
right. I also understand that the calculators are very precious and that I
must take very good care of them. I agree to abide by the following policies:
If I notice my calculator is missing, I will notify the teacher
immediately.
I will use my calculator in the classroom only and will not take it
out of the classroom without the teacher’s permission.
I will use only the calculator assigned to me and will not use a
calculator with a different number unless I have permission from the teacher.
I will do my very best not to drop the calculator on the floor or
otherwise cause damage to it.
I will notify my teacher by raising my hand when I believe my
calculator needs new batteries. I will wait patiently until the teacher is
able to get them for me.
If I would like to have a calculator to take home to do my homework, I
will ask the teacher if I can check one out. I will not leave the room with
it until I have filled out the proper paperwork for checking it out.
I will be held financially responsible for my calculator is something
happens to it while it is in my possession. I realize the calculator costs
$80 to replace.
I will report any text messages that may appear on my calculator as
soon as I notice them.
I realize that playing games on my calculator during class time will
result in my privilege of using a calculator during class being revoked,
whether the calculator is personal or school-owned.
I will notify my teacher immediately if I realize something is wrong
with my calculator or if something happens to it.
You must have your calculator before class starts. If you failed to get it
on your way in the door then you have failed to prepare for class. As a
result, NO CALCULATOR FOR YOU!

End of Course Test
As you may know the South Carolina State Department of Education has mandated
that all Algebra I/Math Tech II students take an End of Course (EOC) Algebra
I Exam. The EOC will encompass the SC State Standards for Algebra I/Math
Tech II that are being taught in the classroom. This state-designed exam
will be administered at the end of the year at a time specified by the
state. The EOC will count 20% of your child’s yearly Algebra I/Math Tech II
grade, which is mandated by the SC State Department of Education. Please
remember that this applies to all Algebra I /Math Tech II students in the
state of South Carolina.
We wanted to advise you of this new requirement from day one. Our teachers
will do everything possible to ensure your child is well prepared for this
exam. It is imperative to understand that the 20% weight of this test can
affect your child’s overall grade negatively or positively.
The SC Mathematics standards can be found at
