Principal's Message

On behalf of the faculty and staff, I welcome you to the Woodruff Primary School family! We believe the parent is the child's first teacher, so we encourage you to be involved in your child's early educational experiences. We believe the community is important to children's educational success. We are thankful to be part of such a supportive community. Student achievement in a safe, secure learning environment is our primary goal. We appreciate you and your continuing support during the 2011-2012 school year. We look forward to working closely with you to accomplish our goals for your child.

NAEYC Accreditation
Find NAEYC Accredited Programs

WPS holds national accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This accreditation is recognized as one of the highest accomplishments for an early childhood organization and designates WPS as having a high quality program for young children. Only 8% of all early childhood programs in the United States have been accredited by NAEYC.

Volunteers

We are so grateful for our volunteers. They fill many roles at WPS. They help in our library and with our book fairs. They help with our music programs. They read in our classrooms. We are always needing volunteers to help with our little ones and their activities. If you would be willing to volunteer your time and services, please contact Mrs. Ann Hodge at 476-3174.

Ways to Be Involved at WPS!

There are many ways to be involved at WPS. You may participate in our volunteer program and read to a child or help a teacher. You may become active in our Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO). Our PTO sponsors many events throughout the year. You may attend our School Improvement Council (SIC)/Title I meetings. Our SIC works to address issues in an effort to make WPS even better!
