Behavior

Good behavior is essential! There are a lot of exciting things we will do in class, so good behavior will assure that we not miss out on anything.  Behavior will be monitored daily, and you will be notified how your son/daughter fared.  Each child has a clip that can move down OR UP!  A conduct grade will be given daily based on where their clip is at the end of the day:

Outstanding

Great Choice

Good Choice

Ready to Learn                                        Conduct grade = S (0 points)

Slow Down - 5 minutes (Thinking time)     Conduct grade = S- (1 point)

Think About It - 10 minutes                    Conduct grade = N (2 points)

Parent Contact                                        Conduct grade = U (3 points)

They will start every day at “Ready to Learn.”  This means that they are ready and doing everything they are supposed to be doing during the day.  If they make good choices above and beyond what is expected they will have the opportunity to clip UP.  If they make choices that aren’t the best they will be asked to clip down.  Students will have the opportunity to clip back up with good behaviors.  If they end the day at 5 minutes or further down, you will see it noted, along with how many TRACK points they lost.

Please initial the agenda daily so I know that you have seen your child’s behavior.  If I have written something in the box, please discuss with your child what would have been a better alternative to what they did.  Please remember to praise your child for all good days! J

Each child has a sticker chart on their locker.  If at the end of the day a student is still on “Ready to Learn” they will earn a sticker for their chart.  If they end ABOVE “Ready to Learn” they will earn extra stickers meaning they will fill their sticker chart up quicker.  When the sticker chart is filled up they may choose a coupon as a reward for their good behavior.

I love this behavior plan because it focuses more on the positive and gives everyone something to work toward, other than just keeping a J.  If you have any questions, please ask me!
