Dear Parents and Third Graders,
My name is Kasey Craig and I am very excited to be your Third Grade
teacher for the 2011-2012 school year! I hope you had a restful and exciting
summer break and are ready to get back to work. I am looking forward to the
upcoming school year and all of the exciting things we will be learning
together.
Before I tell you about some of the things that will be going on in
our classroom this year, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself.
I graduated with honors from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor’s
Degree in Early Childhood Education. This is my 3rd year teaching, and my
4th year teaching third grade. I have been married to my husband, Joey, for
nine years. He works in the gas department at Memphis Light, Gas, and Water.
We have two daughters, Makenzie Gentry, who is 8 years old and Ella Claire,
who is 2 years old. We will be adding an addition in December to our clan,
our son Weston will make his appearance! We are so excited about the changes
going on in our family!
During the school year, we will be learning many new and exciting
things. We will learn to write in cursive, memorize and recite multiplication
facts 0-12,create projects, do many classroom activities in cooperative
groups, and much, much more.
I cannot express how excited and delighted I am to be your child’s
teacher this year! I believe that parents are the most important people in a
child’s life, and that in order to ensure that your child has the best year
possible;we must both work together as a team. I need your help and support of
my academic, homework, and discipline efforts here at school. In return, I
will keep you informed about your child’s progress and many of their other
experiences here at school on a regular basis. I fully believe that with home
and school working together each and every student can have his or her most
successful school year yet.
