BEE Binder

B.E.E. Binder

I want to introduce you to our B.E.E. Binder.  B.E.E. is an acronym for Bring Everything Everyday.  Your child is required to take this binder home every afternoon and is also responsible for bringing it back to school in the mornings. Please look in the binder each night and sign the agenda book.  The B.E.E. Binder should be kept neat and organized.  If the binder itself is damaged, please replace it and reinsert all contents.

Here is how the B.E.E. Binder is organized:

 

Front pocket

Important information, progress reports, Graded Papers folder (each Tuesday) and things to be returned to school will be found here.

Pencil pouch

Pocket for money, notes from me, and permission slips.  Any written notes to me should be placed here, also.

Agenda Book – the Student Handbook is located in the Agenda Book, also.  Please read the Student Handbook.

Also, record your child's daily Reading Log in the Agenda Book.

Your child’s daily behavior will be recorded here.  Please SIGN or INITIAL beside each day.   

EVERY NIGHT your child should be reading.  They (or you) should write the date, what book they read (or what chapters in a chapter book), and the author’s name. Please also note if your child is ready to take an AR test.  Before testing, your child will need to have read the book at least 3 (three) times.

Spelling Words/Sight Words/Sentences to Read

The complete list for each Unit will be on one page. Please do not loose this sheet.

In the divider pocket you will find the weekly spelling words list and the monthly sight words.  The spelling words will be tested every Thursday and the sight words will be tested the last week of the month.  Please study these with your child.

Homework Folder

Left pocket – unfinished class work that needs to be completed at home and returned the next day. 

Right pocket – weekly homework packet. This needs to be turned in at the end of the week.  If it is an abbreviated week, please turn in homework on the last day of school that week.

Back pocket

Anything for you to keep at home – checked class work, graded papers, etc.

I may add sections as needed, so make sure to check the B.E.E. Binder every day!
