B.E.A.C.H. Book

BEACH Book

I want to introduce you to your BEACH Book.  BEACH is an acronym for Bring Everyday: Assignments, Communication & Homework.  Your child is required to take this binder home every afternoon and is also responsible for bringing it back to school in the mornings.  Here is how it is organized:

Front pocket

Important information or things to be returned, and my weekly newsletters will be found here.

Pencil pouch

Pocket for lunch money, notes to me, and permission slips.

Agenda

Your child’s Agenda, which will be updated daily to let you know how your child’s behavior was for the day.  Please initial beside each day after viewing. This is also a great place for you to jot down any notes for me because I check them every day.

Information section

Helpful information you might have questions about contact information, daily schedule, class list, BEACH contract, etc.

Reading log

EVERY NIGHT your child should be reading at least 20 minutes.  They (or you) should write the date, what book(s) they read (or what chapters in a chapter book), and the author’s name.

Spelling and Sight Words

Here is where you’ll find new spelling words weekly and new sight words monthly.

Homework folder

Left pocket work that needs to be completed or corrected at home and returned the next day!

Right pocket weekly homework.  This needs to be turned in at the end of the week.

Back pocket

Anything for you to keep at home graded papers, school newsletters, PTO reminders, etc.

We may add sections as needed, so make sure to check it every day! J
