<DIV style="TEXT-ALIGN: left">Building a Healthy School... </DIV>One lucky grade level will enjoy lettuce and oranges this month as part of Nurse Smith's plan to introduce students to a new fruit and a new vegetable each month this school year! Eating seasonal fruits and vegetables, especially those grown locally, is a great way to get a variety of essential nutrients throughout the year.

Notes to Parents...

<UL></LI><LI>The safety and security of all our students and staff is a top priority at Battle Academy.   Please help us by following the procedures found in the Student/Family Handbook in your child’s AgendaMate: “ALL visitors are expected to check in at the main office and get a visitor’s badge.  Any parent wishing to visit classrooms during the academic day must be escorted to classrooms by an administrator.  Please let office personnel know if you wish to visit a classroom.”  In addition, please remember that all exterior doors are locked except those at the “Welcome” mosaic on the parking lot side of the building; visitors should enter through these doors and report immediately to the office.  It is very important that all persons in our building are accounted for at all times. </LI><LI>Please help our teachers maintain their schedules by recognizing that they are not available during instructional time, which begins promptly at 8:05am and continues until the dismissal bell rings.   Teachers will be glad to schedule a time to meet with you or conference with you by phone.

PLAYGROUND USE AFTER SCHOOL 
Please remember that School Age Child Care uses our playgrounds between 3:30pm and 6:00pm.  Children not in SACC may not be on the playground during those times.  We appreciate your cooperation as we follow our guidelines; children not in SACC and their families are welcome to use the south end of our campus for after-school play.
