ONGOING NEEDS
A multitude of parent volunteers are needed to help Bearden
High School maintain its high standard of excellence. Below are just a few of
the many volunteer opportunities for the 2008-2009 school year. Please call or
email the PTSO to find out more information about these volunteer positions.

School Bookstore:
Shifts are available in the morning before school starts and during lunch
periods. This job is a "window on the world" of BHS students in the West Mall
area. Great fun and very ehlpful - proceeds of the School Bookstore fund many
needed improvements projects at Bearden.

West Mall Office:
Shifts every day from 8:00 - 12:00 and from 12:00 - 3:30. Check students in
and out, greet parents and other visitors, assist secretaries and
administrators as needed. Very busy and helpful.

Information Desk:
Staff the Information Desk in the West Mall Commons area, greet visitors and
parents. 8:00 - 12:00 and 12:00 to 3:30.

Newsletter:
Assist in labeling PTSO/BHS newsletter four times per year. Thress hour time
commitment during school hours.

House and Grounds:
An opportunity to beautify the grounds at Bearden High School. Campus cleanup
days, plantings, fall and spring workdays. Many workers needed. Groups are
welcome - a chance to earn some service hours!

Library:
Staff the checkout desk and other clerical and creative opportunities
available. Flexible scheduling - one, two, and three hour slots between 7:30
a.m. and 4:15 p.m.
