The school day begins at 7:50am due to stockpiling of snow days. Any student who arrives after
7:50 will be counted tardy.
SNACKS/CLASSROOM PARTIES
Celebrations. Schools will limit celebrations that involve food during the
school day to no more than one party per class per month. Each party should
include no more than one food or beverage that does not meet nutrition
standards for foods and beverages sold individually. The Wellness Team will
disseminate a list of healthy party ideas to parents and teachers.
School Field Trips. Teachers will be encouraged to to utilize the school
cafeteria's student lunch program for field trips.
Communications with Parents. The Polk County schools will support parents'
efforts to provide a healthy diet and physical activity for their children.
The schools will send home nutrition information, post nutrition tips on
website. The Wellness Committee will provide parents a list of foods
that meet the district's standards and ideas for healthy celebrations/
parties, rewards, and fundraising activities.
