Hello, I'm Amy McAbee. This is my ninth year of teaching 2nd grade. I began
my teaching career at South Polk Elementary. I took a few years off from
teaching full time in order to spend more time with my two daughters. During
that time, I worked parttime teaching adult students to read or helping them
prepare for their GED. When my oldest daughter started Kindergarten, I came
back to teaching fulltime here at BES. My daughters are now in the 1st and
the 3rd grade. I enjoy reading and scrapbooking. We attend Pine Ridge
Baptist Church.
My mission for my class is that the parents and I work together to help
students develop both academically and socially so that they are prepared
for third grade. I believe it is my job to teach these group of 17 students
the academic standards, but it is my priviledge to know them as individuals.
