Reading: The Emperor's Egg Focus Skill: Fact & Opinion Review Skills throughout the year author's purpose, setting, main idea, character, predicting outcomes, synonyms, antonyms, cause & effect, compare/contrast, diagrams, inferences, and sequencing **************************************************************************** Spelling: Words with ing & ly Those students that study a little each day tend to do better on the weekly test. Go for it! Be ready for our spelling test each Thursday. Go to our Links page and visit spellingcity.com Click on find a list and type in Simcox. This is a very useful and fun site for spelling word practice. Remember to review Daily Language on Thursday evening. You want to be ready for our Friday quiz.:) Writing: Winter Topics ************************************************************************** Science: We will finish Chapter 6, Earth Yesterday & Today. Our test will be on Wednesday. The study guide will be sent home on Monday. Remember a short note stating that you helped your child study is "5 Bonus Points" added to the test. **************************************************************************** Be sure to check your child's teacher's website for weekly math information.:) Math: Our Fast Fact Quiz will be on Wednesdays.(2 1/2 minutes) Each Wednesday your children will receive their new set of facts for the next week. This week our Fast Fact Quiz will be x3. We will randomly have the 100 addition facts & 100 subtraction fact quizzes. Keep practicing facts.
