Hale's Happenings

Announcements:

Happy Valentines, everyone!

On Tuesday of this week, February 14th @ 1:00pm, our class will be celebrating Valentines Day with a yummy snack and Valentine Swap!

Each child is asked to design a VALENTINE COLLECTION MAILBOX at home.  To do this, the children should use an empty cereal box with the top cut off.  They should then decorate the box with wrapping/construction paper, stickers, hearts, etc. Students should bring those boxes to school by Monday, February 13th.

Each child is also asked to bring…..

1.                          Valentine cards for each member of the class.  A class list was sent home last week.

2.                         2 DOZEN goodies for the boxes.  The goodies can be candies, stickers, Valentine pencils, erasers, or anything the kiddos will enjoy!  Please have those to Mrs. Hale NO LATER THAN 8:30 MONDAY morning to ensure they get stuffed into Valentine Mailboxes.

Thanks for your help, parents!

VOLUNTEERS WELCOME & NEEDED....
Our classroom is in need of a few good men....and women!!  If you are willing to donate time to our classroom, we would love for you to join us! Whether you have a couple of hours, or only a few minutes, our classroom can benefit from your assistance.  Volunteers are welcome each afternoon to file papers, help keep student desks cleaned and germ-free, cut/glue classroom projects, or put up/take down bulletin boards.
We are also needing volunteers for Friday afternoon Computer Lab from 2:10-3:00.
**If interested in volunteering in any capacity, please email Mrs. Hale with your available days and times.**

Please remember that we go outside for playtime, DAILY, weather permitting.  The physical activity and fresh air are both vital for our physical and academic growth!   All "Hotshots" need a coat, and possibly a hat & mittens/gloves for those days with colder temperatures.

As you are cleaning out closets and storage areas, please keep our classroom in mind.  We could use the following items:

*board games for rainy recess time

*old magazines

*brightly-colored area rugs

*old mason-type jars with lids

If you are unsure about an item, zap Mrs. Hale an email before you toss it to the trash. :o)

Please remind your "Hotshot" that drinking water throughout the school day is VERY important. Encourage them to bring their water bottle to school daily!

Thank you for the goodies you have already sent for our classroom! We are still in need of several items, though.  Please double check our Wish List and feel free to send items found on that list.  Any donations are GREATLY appreciated!

AA batteries
Expo dry erase markers in the following colors (lime/light green, turquoise, yellow, red, & black)
