BE READY   BE RESPONSIBLE   BE RESPECTFUL
Capshaw is participating in an important district initiative called
School-Wide Positive Behavior Support. We have adopted a unified set of rules for our
entire school. These rules define our expectations for behavior for students while at school.
You will see these rules posted throughout the school and the school grounds. Your child
learned these rules during the first few days of school, and they will be reinforced throughout the
school year. These rules are for all students and all staff in all settings. It is not a program
or curriculum. It is an approach to creating a safe and productive learning environment
where teachers can teach and students can learn. This is just one of the many ways we will ensure
that Capshaw is where "future leaders learn!"

Please remember that when your child has been sick, he/she should be fever-free for 24 hours before returning to school.  Please help us keep illnesses from spreading throughout the classroom.

*We are sending Capshaw Connection electronically now. If you are not receiving yours electronically yet, please send me an email address to which we could send it for you!

*Check out "This Week" for more information about our curriculum for the week.

Things to note or remember:

*Check your child's planner each night--if there is nothing written in it--something is wrong!  Wonderkids should be writing on Mondays, assignments that we already know will be due.  As the week progresses, they should add to the planner, if needed (math, unfinished work from school, etc).

There is a HOMEWORK page on my website. This page will give you an idea of the assignments your child is expected to complete each week. Students are given time each day to write in planners and should use them as a tool. Daily assignments could be adjusted based on what we do in class, and ultimately the students are responsible for having assignments completed. This is the time to make students accountable--it will benefit them in the "long run."

---Please check your child's planner for homework assignments. Some assignments are long-term, so students need to work a little each night. This is the time to develop good work habits!

*Check out THIS WEEK for curriculum info!
