My name is Stephen Simmons, and this is my eighth year teaching. I have
a BS degree from Tennessee Technological University in Elementary Education
for Kindergarten through eighth grade. I am currently working on my Masters
degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in reading instruction.
I have a wide range of experience including teaching grades first through
fifth. I am thrilled to be a part of the Capshaw team.
I have been married for 11 years to my wife, Sarah, who is a local hair
stylist. We have three wonderful children, Sophie, age 7, Rylee, age 5, and
our new baby boy Jack.
They are a joy to our lives. I enjoy spending time with my family and doing
things my kids enjoy such as playing at parks and camping.
My mission for our class is to experience learning in a fun, hands-on
manner, while instilling a sense of self-confidence and enthusiasm for learning.
