Valentine’s Day: 
Third grade will not be having an actual party for Valentine’s Day, however students may bring Valentine cards to hand out to the class. You should have received a list of student names last week. Also, you may send a healthy snack for your child to share with the class.
School closings: With winter weather being a possibility in the future, please remember school is only closed if you receive an automated call from the school stating that school is cancelled or if you see that Lexington City Schools are closed. We are not in the Henderson County School District.
Reading Learning Targets:
I can write a friendly letter correctly including the 5 parts with correct capitalization and use of commas.
We will be reviewing several reading skills.
English Learning Targets:
I can recognize adjectives and the nouns they describe in a sentence.
I can use adjectives to compare two or more nouns in a sentence (comparative and superlative adjectives).
I can combine short, choppy, or wordy sentences into one complete sentence using a conjunction.
Math Learning Targets:
I can determine reasonable units of measure and use benchmarks to estimate common measurements.
I can determine the appropriate tools to make measurements.
I can measure length to the nearest centimeter or half inch.
I can solve problems requiring addition and subtraction of lengths.
Science Learning Targets:
I can determine what creates friction and heat energy.
Social Studies Learning Targets:
I can recognize natural resources and their uses.
