Announcements

      ACCELERATED READER [AR]  Quizzes may be taken from 8:15 to 3:00 Monday through Friday as students complete their classroom assignments.  Quizzes may be taken during these hours in the CDS Library also.  The library will close for lunch from 12:00 to 12:30 each day.
      We will begin giving STAR tests in the library as students come in for their library visits for grades 2 - 8.

      MIDDLE SCHOOL will visit library each week beginning Monday, Sept. 21 through Thursday, Nov. 5.  They will be working on research papers assigned by Mrs. Taylor-Hodum.  We will still check out books for two weeks. 
            6A and 6B  come on Monday mornings  ;  7th grade comes on Thursday mornings  ;  8A and 8B come on
               Wednesday mornings.
       
     

Library cards:  Each student is issued a library card that is kept in the library.


Class visits:  
K – 5 visit once a week;  Kindergarten will begin checking out books to bring
                      home after the Christmas holidays.
                            
                  Middle School visits every other week.


Loan period:  
K – 5 books are checked out for one week.

                  Middle School books are checked out for two weeks.

 
Fines:  Late fees are $.05 per item per day.  Fines do not accrue over the weekend or over school holidays.  Students with excused absences will need to see the librarian to have their fines waived.
         All items are due back to the library at the end of each semester.  Report cards will be held if items and/or fines have not been cleared.


Overdue Notices: 
Notices are e-mailed on Tuesdays through TeaacherEase.
 
ADOPT-A-BOOK  You may adopt a book to give to the CDS Library in honor or in memory of a loved one or a special friend.  $15.00 will be for a hardback book; $10.00 for a paperback.
