I have been a part of the Coalfield Community for my entire life. I
graduated (Laura Conlon) from Coalfield School in 1990 and then from
Tennessee Technological University in 1995. I have been teaching at
Coalfield since the fall of 1995.
Family is very important to me. I treasure my whole family and am proud to
be part of a large extended family. I am married to David Stewart, and we
have two boys (Zach and Dylan). My husband also teaches. He teaches
junior high math at Coalfield School.
Coalfield School and the students here have long been a large part of my
life. I enjoy my experiences as a teacher and working with young people.
The greatest joy I have as an educator is to see the pride that success and
accomplishment brings to the faces of students.
As with any teacher, my main mission is to expose our students to the needed
skills and iformation that will help them to become productive and positive
members of our soceity.
I also try to accomplish the following goals througout a child's years in my
classroom:
1. I want all of my students to know that I care about them!
2. I want to help make their junior high experience a productive and positive
time in their lives.
3. I want all of my students to enjoy reading more when they leave my
classroom than when they entered.
