Welcome back! I’m happy that everyone is returning to school safe and sound,
and a special welcome to any new students joining our neighborhood of learning.
I want everyone to be happy and successful at DeKalb County High School and
believe that you, the student, play a key role in making it happen. As the
student your role is to show interest in and ask questions about what we are
studying. As the teacher, my role is to show interest in you and answer
questions about what we are studying. Together we can make for a great school
year with lots of new learning possibilities.
I believe in fair and consistent discipline that encourages students to be
responsible for themselves. At school, I try to create a safe environment
where courtesy and kindness prevail and where there is respect for differences
in other people, customs and cultures.
Please share with me any information regarding a special need that will help
us better serve your family. I believe that communication among parents,
students and teachers is critical in assuring your success in my classroom.

MISSION STATEMENT FOR MR. SANDERS CLASS
We are the unique, creative, intelligent, and artistic students in Mr. Sanders
class. We want to express ourselves and learn about the world while having
fun.
To accomplish this, we will stay on task, pay attention, do our best, and turn
in all our assignments on time.
