About me, the teacher!

I grew up in Cookeville with a wonderful family. My parents, Bessie and
Jessie, are two of the hardest working people I have ever known. Together
they have raised 6 children. I have 2 sisters (Hessie and Jessica) and 3
brothers (Charles, Gabriel, and Grayson). I wouldn't trade them for the world
because they are always there when you need them.

I am married to the greatest man in the world (other than my Dad). His name
is Steve Elrod. We've been married since July 4, 2008. We currently live in
the Dodson Branch community which is part of Jackson County. My husband is a
deputy for the Putnam County Sheriff's Department. We love spending time
with friends, riding the motorcycle, and traveling. We have two jack
russells, Max and Chloe, and a Dutch shepherd, Titan. We are extremely
excited to announce we are expecting our first baby which is due on February
14, 2010.

I am also very excited to be in my third year of teaching at DeKalb Middle
School. It's absolutely the best place to work. I love having a rewarding
job that allows me to work with the most incredible people in the world.

My Mission

My mission is to develop a relationship with each and every student so that I
may touch their life and make a difference in their future.
