(Updated Sunday, February 7, 2010)
Agenda for this week:
English: If you haven't already - you must post a comment (which should be
the introduction to an essay) to the "G.A.S.P. Writing Project" for a grade.
Do this ASAP if you haven't; I will take off 5 points per each day this is late.
We will return to vocabulary and look at
word roots, prefixes, and suffixes, along with common foreign phrases (TEST
over the first five this week), and we will discuss the difference between
connotation and denotation of words.
We'll also begin some ThinkLink review and analyze different types of
informational texts.
Reading: *** If you have not already done so, you need to post ONE GLOSSARY
WORD to the "What are YOU Reading?" blog. I will also take away points if
this is late! ***
We will finish Act II of the dramatized version of _Anne Frank's
Diary_ in reading, and continue to view dramatized versions of her diary and
the play. Additionally, we will discuss and spend more time working on the
independent reading project, along with learning two new Poetry terms that
start with "U" and "V."
**Bring your book to class EVERY day.
- For general school announcements, go to "Calendar" from the DMS home
page and login as a guest.
