This is my second year at East High School. I have taught for 14 years in
the Memphis City Schools. The first 11 at Hamilton High, the next 2 at
Treadwell, and last year at East. I have found the environment at East
enjoyable with many of the students yearning to learn. My mother and father
were both teachers and I guess that growing up in that environment
influenced my decision to teach. The experiences with the students at all
the schools have taught me many things. One is there are many wonderful
students at every school regardless of which one I am teaching at. It is my
hope to make East my home away from home.
It is my hope to impart a basic knowledge of chemistry to every student and
prepare them for college chemistry if their path takes them there. I want
the lab experiences for the students to be events they will remember the
rest of their lives.
