The Munchkin Lollipop Store

 The Munchkin Lollipop Store

The Basics:
In our classroom, we have an “Economy System”.  Each week, students earn (play) money for the following things:

• $5.00 for each week they show perfect behavior (do not pull a clip)
• $5.00 for each week they complete all homework assignments
• $5.00 for each week their belongs are clean and organized
• $5.00 for each week they complete their classroom job

This is an “all or nothing” system.  If you miss one day of perfect behavior,  you will not receive the $5.00.  If you miss one day of your homework, you do not receive $5.00. (Unless you have an excused absence)  If you do not complete your classroom job each day correctly, you will not receive $5.00.  You will not receive $5.00 if your desk, binder, or crate is found messy and unorganized.

Bonus Bucks:
Students may earn bonus bucks throughout the six weeks.  The assignments and activities will be located on our class web page.

Savings:
Students may save their earnings to purchase such things as a class party, lunch with the teacher, lunch with a friend, recess in the room with a friend, a computer pass or homework pass.

Responsibility:
From this system, students learn responsibility lessons.  They learn to keep track of their money, and not to lose it.  They learn how to save up for things that are important to them, instead of spending everything at once.  They also learn the value of earning money.  They will learn to take pride in their work, their behavior, and in taking responsibility for their own actions.
