I do not normally give homework, but it is a good idea to practice your speech
sounds at home. Try to put all speech & language worksheets in one place at
home such as in a drawer or in a folder. Every day get out one worksheet (or
more) and spend a few minutes saying the words out loud to another person.
TIPS FOR SPEECH THERAPY HOMEWORK
* Encourage and praise your child's communication attempts.
* Set a good example for your child. Speak clearly and repeat if necessary.
* Give your child enough time to respond.
* Give your child accurate and positive feedback. (Avoid saying "that's
wrong" or "no".)
Try saying things like:
* "I like the way you said that word!"
* "That was a good 'k' sound!"
* "Try again, like this.........(you pronounce the sound again)"
* "Good try, but not quite right."
* You can repeat the word with an emphasis on the sound and have the
child repeat after you. You can give the child a choice, for
example, "Is it a tat or a cat?"
