What kinds of things can be drawn in this class? We draw a variety of things in Computer-Aided Drafting. We start simple with lines and basic geometric figures and work our way up to house plans and complicated mechanical parts. You can draw almost anything in this class. What kinds of jobs can I get after this class? There are several companies that employ drafters in this area. Engineering will require a four year college degree. Drafters usually have a two year college degree. What are some of the local colleges that offer degrees? Northeast State Technical College and Walters State both offer Associate degrees in Drafting and Pre-Engineering. ETSU offers four year Bachelors degrees in Engineering Technology. East Tennessee State offers a B.S. in Engineering Technology. Both the University of Tennessee and Tennessee Tech offer B.S. degrees in Engineering. How much can earn at the Appalachian Fair as a part of CAD? The maximum possible for any 1 drafter at the 2008 Appalachian Fair was $1,817. The Center for Technology had 1 student win over $300 in 2007. |
